Epiphany Community Health Outreach Services (ECHOS) offers meaningful, hands-on volunteer experiences that allow individuals to make a direct impact on the lives of Houston families facing housing instability, food insecurity, and barriers to healthcare.

Client Outreach and Screening 

When: Mondays – Thursdays, 9 AM–12 PM

Where: ECHOS’ office located at 9894 Bissonnet, Suite 900 Houston, Texas 77036

Capacity: Up to 2 volunteers per shift

  • Call clients to conduct screenings for rent and utility assistance.
  • Gather and record necessary information and help to determine eligibility for programs.
  • Contact clients who have applied for public benefits to provide updates, answer questions and ensure they complete required documentation.

Group and Community Service Projects

When: Open / Varies

Where: Off-site and deliver to ECHOS’ office at Bissonnet / Beltway 8

Capacity: Open

  • Assemble family hygiene kits or children’s activity kits to be distributed at ECHOS.
  • Host a diaper drive at your location and deliver to ECHOS for distribution to families in need.
  • Collect household goods for families in need and deliver them to ECHOS.

More Than Financial Assistance

At ECHOS, we understand that families facing a housing crisis may be struggling with more than one challenge. Clients may also be connected with ECHOS’ other programs, including Benefits Application Assistance and Food Security, creating a more holistic approach to helping families regain stability. 

Events

Throughout the year, ECHOS also welcomes volunteers to support special events such as:

Healthy Connections Luncheon

  • Typically in February.
  • Assist with setup, check-in and breakdown.
  • Location: The Junior League of Houston

Shred Day

  • Typically in February, April and November each year.
  • Location: The Junior League of Houston

Fall Food Truck Fiesta

  • Typically in October
  • Assist with setup, check-in and breakdown.
